To upgrade to Windows 11 operating system, the device must have at least an Intel 8th generation coffee leak or Zen2 CPU. TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) support, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage will be required.

That's why millions of computers aren't officially capable of upgrading to Windows 11, but in some ways it is possible.

Microsoft will gradually introduce Windows 11 and this upgrade will not be available for all currently enabled devices.

According to the company, the upgrade will be available to all eligible devices by mid-2022.

If you already have a computer or laptop running Windows 10 or have a device that can be upgraded to Windows 11, here's how to do it.

First, check if your device is eligible for Windows 11 upgrades through Microsoft's PC Health Check app .

Back up all your necessary documents, apps and data.

If the device is enabled then go to Settings on Computer or Laptop then Update & Security then go to Windows Update.

Check for updates there and if a Windows 11 upgrade is available, there will be an option to download and install.

Click Download and Install and then follow the on-screen instructions.

If you don't see the free Windows 11 upgrade option but the device is enabled, you'll have to wait until mid-2022.
