A user of the Google Maps subforum of Reddit has found the black hole in the photo that accompanies this news and the conspiracies about its origin are completely unleashed at the moment.

There are users who claim that it is a US military base that has been censored by Google so that, as in Area 51 , we cannot see what is hidden there.
"What the hell is this (...) it doesn't look like an island at all," writes the 'discoverer' of this black hole in the middle of the sea. The answers have not been slow to arrive, among which read: "There is an island", "It looks to have been censored," and a more reasoned attempts to explain the origin.

"It could be an underground volcano or what You see it's its hole or it's its rock formation and that's why it looks so black. "The answers about a secret military base have not been long in coming, although there is also room for the funniest comments such as "islands with triangle shapes have already been discovered".

The true origin of this image
If you really want to know what it is about, you can search for it on Google Maps or click on this link : Vostok Island, located northeast of New Zealand. The central black part is nothing more than the dark green forest that occupies almost the entire dimension of the island. So once again the conspiracy theory is dismantled, although we are aware that there are still many mysteries to be solved, and 'the truth is out there'.
