Starlink Helps Ukraine Drones Destroy Russian Tanks

It allows to fix with enough precision the location of the enemy tanks. The Ukrainian government has been delighted.

SpaceX's Starlink Internet is proving useful to the Ukrainian military in its fight against the Russian invasion.

In an article on Friday titled "Elon Musk's Starlink is helping Ukraine win the drone war", the newspaper "Telegraph" and also picked up by Ars Technica described how the satellite connection helps the Aerorozvidka (Aerial Reconnaissance unit) of the Ukrainian army to carry out its work of "using surveillance and attack drones to target Russian tanks and positions".

What Is An NFT

Amid internet and power outages, which are expected to get worse, Ukraine is turning to the newly available Starlink system for some of its communications. Drone teams on the ground, sometimes in poorly connected rural areas, can use Starlink to connect with targets and information from their battlefield database.

They can direct drones to drop anti-tank munitions, sometimes silently flying toward Russian forces at night as they sleep in their vehicles.

The "most sophisticated drones of the Ukrainian unit are connected by Starlink" collected in the Ars Technica media.
