The Cold War sparked an arms race never before seen between the United States and the former Soviet Union. Among the most used and manufactured means were the battle tanks. These fifty-ton masses, protected by thick armor, were a serious problem for armies.

Among the missiles developed with these characteristics is the FGM-148 Javelin, which since 1996 has produced more than 9,000 units. This weapon is capable of destroying a modern tank with a single hit.
Knowing this and also knowing that the Russian Federation has one of the largest tank parks in the world, NATO forces have reinforced Ukraine with this type of missile. It is a "small" weapon that can be used by a platoon of soldiers, even by a single individual.
