Jeff Bezos' company accused NASA of always favoring SpaceX over its competition. However, the US courts have agreed with the public company and the one directed by Elon Musk.
Blue Origin has failed in its lawsuit against NASA over the SpaceX lunar lander contract. The Federal Claims Court has ruled against Blue Origin, dismissing the company's appeals. Blue Origin carried out allegations that NASA ignored "key flight safety requirements" when delivering the Human Landing System to SpaceX.
The ruling will be publicly available sometime after November 18, when both parties to the lawsuit are expected to draft their parts. NASA suspended work on SpaceX after the lawsuit, but work should resume on November 8.
Blue Origin previously challenged the contract through the Government Accountability Office only to be rejected in July, prompting Jeff Bezos's team to respond with a lawsuit. The firm even tried to drastically undermine SpaceX with a $ 2 billion offer, arguing at the time that NASA has historically awarded contracts to multiple partners to ensure a mission is launched on time.
