WhatsApp's Honor That No Other App Could Get

Can you estimate how many messages people will send daily on the popular messaging app WhatsApp around the world?

It won't be easy to answer because no messaging app has reached this milestone yet.

Yes, WhatsApp has set a new milestone in the world of messaging, which also suggests that Facebook's proprietary application has indeed ended the era of SMS.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg recently said in the company's quarterly report that users on the WhatsApp are now sending a hundred billion or so to say a trillion messages a day.

If you don't know, then know that before this the number of one hundred billion was crossed by this app on the last day of last year / first day of the new year i.e. the beginning of the new year.

In fact, at the moment, WhatsApp is no match for any messaging app, including Facebook Messenger.

It is not clear how many messages are exchanged daily in Facebook Messenger, but in 2016 the company said that Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp together exchange 60 billion messages daily.

In May of this year, Apple's chief executive Tim Cook said that the use of iMessage and Facebook Tom had increased to a record level, but no statistics were released.

But the last time these figures came out, Apple's services lagged far behind WhatsApp's, even China's VChat, which has more than a billion users, lags behind WhatsApp in terms of daily messaging.

At the beginning of 2014, the then chief executive of WhatsApp, John Kom, said in an event that 50 billion messages are sent daily in this messaging app.

At that time, the number of WhatsApp users was close to 500 million, but now this number has exceeded 2 billion, while no other smartphone app, including Facebook, can compete with it in popularity.

This year we've all relied heavily on messaging for contacts and business

Will Cathcart, the current head of WhatsApp, said in a tweet.

We are proud that WhatsApp has been able to send hundreds of billions of messages a day and we look forward to moving forward

WhatsApp was first introduced in 2009 and in 2014 Facebook bought it for $19 billion.

In February 2016, the number of monthly users of WhatsApp exceeded one billion, while in July 2017, one billion users started using this messaging application daily.

When the number of WhatsApp users was last revealed in February 2020, it was over 2 billion and it is likely that in the near future it may overtake Facebook in this regard.

Earlier, Facebook had set a milestone in 2017 (now the number of its users has reached two and a half billion) while YouTube had set a milestone in May 2019.
